I'm a designer who moved through front-end, landed in UX, currently work with a toolbelt that keeps growing, and outside of that, I'm probably reading, at the gym, or being bossed around by cats.

About me

Shanayja Mays

I like taking the parts of a product nobody wants to deal with, like dense dashboards, broken handoffs, and confusing onboarding, and making them feel obvious. My background spans research, product strategy, and enough front-end fluency to know what I'm actually asking engineers for.

Right now I'm putting that same energy into learning how AI changes the job, figuring out what stays the same and what doesn't when part of the process is agentic, and staying close to the people and resources who are figuring it out alongside me. I've been using a computer since I was 3, so apparently this was always the plan, I just didn't get the memo until much later.
